Part 3 of the “Handling Interruptions” Coffee Thoughts Series
When your day breaks apart, you don’t need a complicated system to pull yourself back together. You don’t need a full routine, a long list, or a heroic amount of focus.
All you need is a small reset.
Something gentle.
Something human.
Something you can do anywhere.
Here is the simplest one I use:
Step away for sixty seconds.
Put your hand on your chest.
And take one slow breath you actually feel.
That’s it.
Not dramatic.
Not fancy.
Not spiritual.
Just human.
When interruptions break your flow, your mind tries to follow them. Your body tightens. Your thoughts scatter into different directions. You feel pulled instead of grounded.
But one slow breath brings you back home to yourself.
Just one.
A minute is enough to interrupt the interruption.
You don’t have to fix the whole day.
You don’t have to restart your motivation.
You don’t have to be productive after this minute.
You only need to return to yourself.
A calm day doesn’t happen every day.
But a calm moment is always available.
And sometimes, that is enough.
